Why MDReview

Healthcare workers spend years training to take care of patients, make difficult decisions, and work under pressure. But when it comes to choosing where to work, many of us are left with very little reliable information.

We can look up hospital rankings. We can read patient reviews. We can compare salaries and benefits. But those things rarely answer the questions that actually shape our day-to-day lives:

  • What is the culture really like?
  • Are physicians supported by leadership?
  • Is staffing safe?
  • Do people feel respected?

Historically, those questions only got answered through word of mouth—a text to a friend or a quick chat at a conference. MDReview was created to bring these conversations into one place.

Moving Beyond Reputation

The purpose of MDReview is simple: to give healthcare professionals a way to share what it is actually like to work at a facility. Not from the outside looking in, but from the people who live it.

Every hospital has a reputation, but reputations are often incomplete. Some places look great on paper but are difficult environments for clinicians. Other facilities lack national name recognition but feature strong leadership, supportive colleagues, and a healthy work culture. MDReview brings those vital details to light.

Our work environment matters. It directly impacts burnout, patient care, and retention. It affects whether a hospital can recruit and retain good clinicians. Yet, until now, there has not been a structured place to share thoughtful feedback about these experiences.

An Honest Resource, Not a Complaint Board

To be clear: the goal is not to attack hospitals or create a space for complaints without context.

We want to build a useful, honest, and balanced resource. A place where healthcare professionals can highlight the good—like fair scheduling, strong teamwork, and supportive leadership—while safely identifying areas for improvement.

A Shared Benefit for Clinicians and Hospitals

We view MDReview as a tool for positive change across the entire medical system, serving both those looking for their next step and those dedicated to improving their current workplace:

  • For Clinicians: This isn’t just a tool for job seekers. It is a way to make informed career decisions, share perspectives, and advocate for positive change to improve your own current work environment.
  • For Hospitals: It serves as a mirror. Honest feedback shows what is working and where improvement is needed. The best workplaces should be easier to find, and those with opportunities for improvement should be encouraged to keep evolving.

This first post is just the beginning. MDReview is still growing, but our mission remains clear: increase transparency, give clinicians a stronger voice, and help improve the environments where we care for patients every day.
